Cotton Prices Gradually Decline as the Weekend Approaches

Cotton prices are experiencing losses of 17 to 42 points across nearby contracts as of Friday. The October 25 Cotton contract is at 66.83, down 42 points; December 25 Cotton is at 68.57, down 23 points; and March 26 Cotton is at 69.91, down 17 points. Concurrently, crude oil futures have decreased by 16 cents per barrel.

On Thursday, the Seam reported sales of 385 bales at an average price of 68.25 cents per pound. The Cotlook A Index remained unchanged at 79.30 as of July 17. The USDA’s Adjusted World Price (AWP) increased slightly to 54.72 cents per pound, while ICE cotton stocks recorded 1,144 decertifications, leaving certified stocks at 23,481 bales.
