Export sales for the week of October 16 reached 28,038 metric tons, marking a 5-week low, while shipments hit a 17-week high of 30,329 metric tons. The USDA estimated the weekly federally inspected hog slaughter at 2.163 million head, down 121,423 head from the same week last year.
