Cotton prices fell 2 to 30 points on Tuesday morning, following a mixed trading session on Monday where futures saw fluctuations between 36 points lower and 13 points higher. As of Sunday, 77% of the U.S. cotton crop had been planted, matching the average pace, with 53% rated as good/excellent—up 4 percentage points from last year, according to the latest Crop Progress report.
The Seam reported sales of 1,311 bales on June 5 at an average price of 74.00 cents per pound. The Cotlook A Index decreased by 135 points to 86.15 cents, while ICE certified cotton stocks increased by 11,219 bales to reach 261,648 bales as of June 5. The Adjusted World Price also dipped by 29 points to 63.20 cents per pound.
