Berkshire Hathaway Energy, known for notching impressive deals (and losses), is making headlines again for settling a massive $299M in Oregon wildfire claims.

The renowned conglomerate’s PacifiCorp unit has revealed its agreement to cough up the substantial amount to settle claims over wildfires in Oregon during September 2020. That’s right, friends, PacifiCorp is shelling out big bucks to avoid a jury trial that could have left it with nothing but pocket lint as wildfires racked up costs that could have totaled billions.
