Campbell Soup Posts Stronger-Than-Expected Third Quarter Earnings

Justin Sullivan/Getty Images News

Family, friends, and soup enthusiasts, gather ’round! In the latest scoop, Campbell’s Soup (NYSE:CPB) dished out its financial report, and it’s a mixed bag of spices, let me tell you. Revenue was down 2.3% from last year in FQ1, coming in at $2.52B, but fear not, it met the market’s expectations. Organic net sales also experienced a slight dip of 1% to $2.5B during the quarter, going up against a tough +15% comparable from a year ago. Volume/mix took a hit, dropping 5% versus the previous year, which was somewhat offset by a 3% net price realization. A veritable rollercoaster, I must say!
