Cotton Industry Updates for Tuesday

Cotton futures experienced a decline on Tuesday, with front months down between 105 to 145 points. The annual USDA Cotton Ginnings report revealed that 13.539 million running bales (RB) were ginned for the 2025/26 crop, marking a decrease of 535,750 RB compared to the previous year.

Additionally, the monthly WASDE update predicted a cotton yield of 852 lbs per acre, estimating production at 13.9 million bales. Current ending stocks for the old crop were reported at 4.4 million bales, while new crop stocks for 2026/27 are anticipated to be 3.9 million bales, with an initial production projection of 13.3 million bales.

Sales reported by The Seam on Monday totaled 14,782 bales at an average price of 79.36 cents per pound, while ICE certified cotton stocks rose by 1,997 bales to a total of 184,218 bales. The Adjusted World Price increased by 393 points last week, reaching 69.59 cents per pound.
