European Indices Falter as Earnings Season Takes Center Stage

London’s UKX index dipped by 0.28%, while Germany’s DAX index saw a similar decline of 0.30%. The CAC index in France experienced the largest drop, falling by 0.57%. Overall, the pan-European Stoxx 600 index slipped by 0.41%, as different sectors displayed mixed performance. While mining stocks gained, the retail sector suffered. However, Deutsche Bank managed to buck the trend and surged by 7% following the release of their Q3 figures.

Looking at the bond market, the U.S. 10-year Treasury yield saw a negligible increase of less than 1 basis point, reaching 4.85%. In contrast, Germany’s 10-year yield decreased slightly by less than 1 basis point, settling at 2.83%. The U.K. experienced a decline of 1 basis point, bringing its 10-year yield to 4.53%.
