Fisker (NYSE:FSR) dropped a bombshell on Friday with the revelation that the final over-the-air software update of the year for the Fisker Ocean all-electric SUV has been unleashed into the world.
The electric vehicle maker is on a warpath, plotting to complete the update for the last customer cars by the end of January in 2024. This OTA update, which can be authorized remotely by all Fisker Ocean owners, comes hot on the heels of the previous major OTA software update – Version 1.10 in November. CEO Henrik Fisker revels in announcing that the update not only vanquished issues but also introduced an arsenal of new features with both Versions 1.10 and 1.11 in 2023. Fisler (FSR) has zero intention of slowing down and is all set to maintain the blistering pace of its updates in 2024. Prior to November, Fisker (FSR) rolled out several factory updates to ensure that vehicles were armed with the latest software before being unleashed into the battlefield – the customers’ driveways.
Fisker (FSR) has declared a mission to uphold its unmatched approach to software updates, highlighting a strategic shift to a staged roll-out plan in order to capitalize on the wisdom gained from past deployments and meticulously test the over-the-air pipeline. In Q1 of 2024, a relentless slew of updates is in the offing to bolster the SolarSky roof capabilities, fortify the torque split between front and rear wheels, introduce a hill-holding function and one-pedal driving, tweak the external vehicle sound and refine the sound of the lock-unlock audio cues based on customer feedback, enhance key fob functionality, enrich the audio experience, add a Pet Mode for pet comfort, and incorporate ADAS features, among other enhancements.
In the aftermath of these awe-inspiring revelations, shares of Fisker (FSR) ascended 9.68% in premarket trading on Friday following a formidable 4.73% gain on Thursday.
