Freddie Mac, a leading mortgage company (OTCQB:FMCC), announced that its mortgage portfolio experienced a growth rate of 3.7% in August. The total value of the portfolio reached $3.46 trillion, surpassing the previous month’s growth rate of 1.2%. This information was included in the company’s monthly volume summary released on Tuesday.

Year-to-date, the portfolio has grown at an annualized rate of 1.5%.

Freddie Mac reported that $3.1 billion of single-family refinance-loan purchases and guarantee volume were recorded at the end of August. This represents 10% of the total single-family mortgage portfolio purchases and issuances.

Although the single-family delinquency rate decreased slightly from 0.56% to 0.55% compared to the previous month, the multifamily delinquency rate saw a slight increase from 0.23% to 0.25%.

As of August, Freddie Mac’s maximum exposure to collateral issued by Fannie Mae and included in Freddie Mac-issued resecuritizations was approximately $113.0 billion.
