AMD Reports Strong Q1 2026 Earnings
Advanced Micro Devices (NASDAQ: AMD) reported a revenue of $10.2 billion for Q1 2026, marking a 38% increase year-over-year. Gross profit rose by 45%, while net income surged 95%. The data center segment contributed significantly, generating $5.8 billion—up 57% compared to the same quarter last year. AMD’s stock has increased by 351% over the past year.
Intel (NASDAQ: INTC) also benefited from the favorable chip market, with its stock rising nearly 491% in the same period. The U.S. federal government has taken a nearly 10% stake in Intel, highlighting its strategic significance. Despite the positive industry outlook, AMD is increasingly competing for market share in the x86 chip sector, traditionally dominated by Intel.
