Moderna Leads Nasdaq 100
In the early hours of Thursday’s trading session, the Nasdaq 100 index saw a standout performance from Moderna (MRNA), surging by an impressive 3.3%, securing its position as the top gainer. However, this bullish momentum was not enough to offset the stock’s year-to-date loss of approximately 10.7%.
Alphabet Struggles
Conversely, Alphabet (GOOGL) emerged as the weakest performer among the Nasdaq 100 components, with its shares plummeting by 3.0% at the start of the trading day. Despite this downturn, Alphabet still maintains a modest 1.4% gain in its year-to-date performance.
Other Active Stocks
On the same day, Alphabet’s alternate stock, GOOG, also faced a decline of 2.8%, whereas Walgreens Boots Alliance (WBA) demonstrated a positive upswing, trading up by 2.9%.
