Hollywood Writers Go On Strike In Dispute Over Payments For Streaming Services

David McNew

Media mogul Barry Diller continues to raise concerns about the ongoing strike crisis in Hollywood, warning of a potential “collapse of the entire industry.”

Diller suggests that the traditional industry giants like Disney (NYSE:DIS), NBCUniversal (NASDAQ:CMCSA), and Paramount Global (NASDAQ:PARA) should exclude streaming platforms such as Netflix (NASDAQ:NFLX), Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL), and Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN) from the negotiation process with the unions.

He emphasizes that if these platforms are involved in negotiations, they may struggle to generate enough revenue to produce new content and recover subscribers.
