The U.K.’s competition regulator has given preliminary approval for the merger between Activision Blizzard (NASDAQ:ATVI) and Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) after Microsoft submitted revised terms for the $69 billion deal.

The revised proposal has paved the way for the full clearance of the merger following feedback from third parties. The merger has already received approval from all other global jurisdictions, and the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) withdrew their lawsuit regarding the merger in July.

β€œAs I mentioned when we announced the deal, this transaction will help us accelerate our future gaming ambitions and allow us to better serve our players,” said Activision Blizzard (ATVI) CEO Bobby Kotick in an email to employees. β€œMicrosoft recognizes our commitment to excellence and creative independence that has served us well over the past 30 years. I am confident that their resources, technology, and tools will provide us with even greater opportunities to develop better games.”
