GlobalFoundries Soars While AstraZeneca Struggles in Nasdaq 100

In early trading on Tuesday, shares of GlobalFoundries led the Nasdaq 100 index, surging by 11.6%. Despite this daily gain, the company has seen its stock value decline by approximately 33.7% year to date—showing the volatility in the semiconductor sector.
On the flip side, AstraZeneca has been the weakest performer in the Nasdaq 100 so far today, with shares trading down 6.1%. Looking at the year as a whole, AstraZeneca’s stock is down about 0.4%, indicating a challenging period for the pharmaceutical giant.
Other notable market actions include NXP Semiconductors, which has seen a decrease of 5.8%, and Tesla, which has experienced an increase of 3.9%. Such fluctuations illustrate the diverse performance of companies within the index.
