Surge in Trading Volume for First Trust Nasdaq Semiconductor ETF

The First Trust Nasdaq Semiconductor ETF (FTXL) is experiencing a significant uptick in trading activity this Friday afternoon, with over 324,000 shares exchanged. This figure far exceeds its three-month average of approximately 57,000 shares. Notably, shares of FTXL climbed about 1.2% on the day.

Among the ETF’s components, Nvidia faced the highest trading volume, although it was down roughly 2.7% with more than 147.1 million shares traded. In contrast, Broadcom saw a substantial rise of about 19.9%, with over 69.4 million shares changing hands. Conversely, Advanced Micro Devices underperformed compared to its peers, dropping about 3.6% on the day.
