Unlocking the Treasure: Finding Value in Super Bowl Advertisements

AI Takes Center Stage in Super Bowl LIX Commercials

For fans of the Philadelphia Eagles, last night was one to remember as the team celebrated its victory in Super Bowl LIX. However, Kansas City Chiefs supporters may be feeling less jubilant.

No matter which team you supported, viewers likely noticed that many commercials from big tech companies prominently featured AI technology:

  • Meta Platforms Inc.’s (META) advertisement showcased stars like Chris Hemsworth, Chris Pratt, and Kris Jenner donning Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses. These glasses come equipped with Meta AI, an assistant that can answer questions and provide recommendations.
  • OpenAI made its Super Bowl debut, presenting a commercial that highlighted significant achievements throughout history, culminating with the unveiling of ChatGPT, its well-known AI chatbot.
  • Alphabet Inc. (GOOG) aired two commercials promoting its AI assistant Gemini. One featured a man preparing for a job interview with Gemini’s help, while the other illustrated a man using Gemini to learn about football.

These ads arrive shortly after Google released Gemini 2.0, its latest and most advanced AI model suite just last week. This marks part of Google’s ambitious goal to implement Gemini AI across its range of products.

But what exactly does “agentic” AI signify?

Understanding AI: Generative vs. Agentic

To grasp “agentic” AI, we first need to understand generative AI.

Think of it as creation.

Generative AI systems, as the name highlights, generate various types of content such as text, images, and videos. They achieve this through pattern recognition, trained on substantial data sets to identify patterns and create new content accordingly.

Some examples of generative AI include OpenAI’s ChatGPT, Google’s Bard, and Microsoft 365 Copilot.

On the other hand, agentic AI emphasizes problem solving.

These systems are designed not just to generate content but to make decisions and adapt to changing circumstances. They act as the cognitive backbone of smart assistants. Equipped with sensors or algorithms, they can interpret their surroundings, evaluate information, and take action.

Gemini 2.0 uses step-by-step breakdowns to analyze problems, allowing it to “consider” prompts before presenting solutions.

In a blog post from December, Google CEO Sundar Pichai reflected, “Over the last year, we have been investing in developing more agentic models, meaning they can understand more about the world around you, think multiple steps ahead, and take action on your behalf, with your supervision.”

It’s important to note that agentic AI is not the same as artificial general intelligence (AGI). The arrival of AGI would mean AI achieves cognitive abilities comparable to those of humans.

Nonetheless, agentic AI is a vital step towards this technology.

The progress towards AGI is something of great interest. On September 12, 2024, I initiated a 1,000 Days to AGI countdown coinciding with OpenAI’s launch of new models designed for reasoning rather than mere pattern recognition.

I believe the 1,000-day period represents the maximum timeframe we might expect to see AGI come to fruition.

As advancements occur, we inch closer to this reality.

Prepared investors stand to benefit tremendously, tapping into the transformative potential AGI offers. Those who position themselves wisely could reap financial rewards unlike any seen since the Internet Revolution.

I’ve pinpointed several companies well-positioned to take advantage of this upcoming “pre-AGI” market, and I’m eager to share this information with you.

Smart Money Recap

The Potential Crypto Rally Amid Market Chaos

Historically, cryptocurrencies tend to thrive during times of geopolitical turmoil. Current market fluctuations echo past events that sparked significant crypto rallies, suggesting a potential repeat. My colleague at InvestorPlace, Luke Lango, provides insights on how you can prepare as a crypto investor during volatile periods.

AI’s Rise: How Tariffs Can’t Shield American Jobs

The evolution of artificial intelligence (AI) is now a significant factor in the job market, as it does not rely on factories or foreign labor. Instead, AI primarily requires computing power to function. This shift implies that millions of jobs might be at risk of being replaced by AI in the next decade. Import taxes imposed by President Trump will not deter this trend. Thomas Yeung outlines steps for individuals to prepare for this impending change.

Transforming Market Uncertainty into Profitable Opportunities

During times of uncertainty or market fluctuations, gold has historically represented a safe investment choice. While many investors commonly opt for physical gold or related stocks, there exists a strategy that could enhance returns significantly. Discover this exclusive trading method here.

DeepSeek: A Catalyst for a New Era in AI Innovation

The tech industry is witnessing a critical competition: DeepSeek versus OpenAI. Louis Navellier, a colleague at InvestorPlace, describes this contest as the AI Proliferation Boom. He provides insights on this trend and explains how you can locate companies positioned to benefit from it.

Future Insights

The advancements in artificial general intelligence (AGI) have captured my attention for some time. AI, as a whole, is a phenomenon I have been following closely for years.

This isn’t just my observation.

According to Louis Navellier, AI stands on the brink of a monumental shift.

Evidence of this can already be seen…

Last month, China’s DeepSeek challenged Nvidia Corp (NVDA), signaling serious competition. Furthermore, Alibaba Group Holding Ltd. (BABA) claims to have developed a platform exceeding DeepSeek’s capabilities.

To combat these advancements from China, President Trump has rescinded certain restrictions on AI growth and initiated Stargate, a $500 billion AI infrastructure project to ensure the United States maintains its leadership in AI technology.

This infrastructure is vital for reaching that transformative “crossover moment” outlined by Louis. It represents another important step on the journey towards AGI.

Later this week, Louis will share his latest thoughts on AI and provide information regarding seven AI “crossover” firms poised for returns of 2X, 5X, and even 10X.

Stay tuned for more updates.

Eric Fry
