“CMS Laser by Laser Photonics Wins Major Contract with Top Manufacturing Services Provider for High-Reliability OEM Solutions”

Laser Photonics’ CMS Laser Secures Major Order for Advanced Marking System

Laser Photonics Corporation (LPC) LASE, a prominent global creator of industrial laser systems for various material processing needs, announced a significant order from its subsidiary, Control Micro Systems (CMS Laser). This order comes from a major global manufacturer specializing in high-reliability original equipment manufacturing (OEM) sectors.

The customer, well-known for supporting OEMs in demanding industries, chose CMS Laser’s custom Laser Plastics Marking System to achieve exceptional throughput and precision for marking plastic components. This system utilizes a high-precision 30-watt CO2 laser paired with a dual-position rotary table, enabling efficient parallel processing for an end-customer based in San Jose, California. This solution addresses the increasing demands for traceability and quality in high-reliability businesses.

“This strategic win highlights the value of integrating CMS Laser’s expertise into the Laser Photonics portfolio,” said John Armstrong, LPC Executive Vice President. “Our custom plastics marking system represents our commitment to providing solutions that enhance operational efficiency and give our customers a competitive edge. This order showcases CMS Laser’s ability to deliver value and build long-term industry partnerships.”

The manufacturing services provider offers a comprehensive suite of services, including design and engineering, assembly, supply chain management, and aftermarket support. They selected CMS Laser’s solution to improve both their own operational flexibility and that of their clients. The new laser marking system will help the OEM end user cater to emerging markets while supporting sustainability initiatives through a cleaner and more efficient marking alternative.

The CMS Laser Plastics Marking System is a comprehensive turnkey solution, designed for high-precision, permanent markings on plastic parts in industrial settings. Fully automated and air-cooled, the system prioritizes operator safety and high-volume production and is controlled by intuitive CMS Laser software. The dual rotary table design allows for simultaneous loading/unloading and marking, enhancing throughput significantly. This innovative design includes features for indexing parts to allow laser marking on the reverse side, all within a CDRH Class I compliant enclosure with robust construction and laser-safe viewing windows. CMS Laser provides custom configurations, facilitating seamless integration into various production lines.

In contrast to traditional marking approaches that depend on consumables and tooling, laser marking offers a cost-effective, environmentally friendly solution with lower operational costs and quicker changeover times. CMS systems are built for maximum safety and durability, ensuring reliable and long-lasting marking solutions.

Since its acquisition by LPC in the fourth quarter of 2024, CMS Laser has seen significant growth fueled by its specialized laser equipment for PCB manufacturing, wire processing, and medical and pharmaceutical applications. This growth has enhanced LPC’s market differentiation and expanded its reach into new industries. For further details, visit the LPC website at www.laserphotonics.com.
