Corn Futures Decline Amid Mixed Planting Conditions in the Corn Belt
Corn futures are currently down by 3 to 4 cents on Friday. The front month CmdtyView national average Cash Corn price decreased by 3 ¼ cents, landing at $4.17 ¾.
Weather Impacts on Corn Planting
Precipitation expected over the next week will affect much of the Corn Belt. While some eastern regions are experiencing delays in planting, the moisture will benefit the crops that are already in the ground.
Export Sales Performance
The latest Export Sales data indicates total commitments at 62.088 million metric tons (MMT), which represents 94% of the USDA export estimate updated earlier this week. Typically, export bookings reach 95% of the projection by this time. Actual exports via FAS are recorded at 45.015 MMT, accounting for 68% of the USDA figure and slightly ahead of the average pace, which is typically around 66%.

Jul 25 Corn is trading at $4.44 ¾, down 3 ¾ cents.
Nearby Cash is at $4.17 ¾, down 3 ¼ cents.
Sep 25 Corn shows a price of $4.21 ¼, also down 3 ¾ cents.
Mar 26 Corn is at $4.50, down 3 ½ cents.
New Crop Cash stands at $3.93, down 3 cents.
