Warren Buffett, CEO of Berkshire Hathaway, has led the company to a cumulative return of over 6,100,000% since 1965, significantly outperforming the S&P 500’s less than 40,000% return over the same period. As of May 2025, Berkshire’s portfolio is valued at approximately $280 billion, with $92 billion, or roughly 33%, invested in eight key stocks related to the artificial intelligence (AI) sector.
Apple leads these investments with $60.3 billion, accounting for 21.5% of Berkshire’s assets. Other significant AI holdings include Amazon at $2.1 billion, and BYD, the largest electric vehicle manufacturer by revenue, at $2.7 billion. Additional investments in Japanese trading houses Mitsubishi, Itochu, Mitsui, Marubeni, and Sumitomo collectively contribute further to Berkshire’s AI strategy, although Buffett’s decisions largely focus on consumer behavior and brand strength rather than solely AI capabilities.
