Nvidia (NASDAQ: NVDA) is developing a new generation of data center architecture, transitioning from traditional 54V DC setups to 800V high-voltage direct current (HVDC) systems, set to launch in 2027. This shift aims to improve efficiency by 5%, reduce maintenance costs by 70%, and cut total ownership costs by 30%. Key partners, Navitas Semiconductor (NASDAQ: NVTS) and Vertiv (NYSE: VRT), are crucial to Nvidia’s plans, especially in power conversion technologies.
Navitas reported sales of $83.3 million in 2024 and saw its stock rise over 100% this year due to its collaboration with Nvidia on the 800V HVDC data center architecture. Vertiv plans to offer essential components for these new data centers by the second half of 2026 and is expected to see significant revenue growth driven by this transition.
