Warren Buffett Reduces Apple Stake
Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway portfolio has seen a significant shift as Apple Inc. (NASDAQ: AAPL), once accounting for half of the portfolio value at over $174 billion, has seen its stake reduced by two-thirds, now valued at nearly $67 billion and representing just under 22% of the holdings. This positions American Express as a close second at nearly 17%.
Buffett’s recent sales come amid a general decline in Apple’s stock, which has dropped 6% over the past year, while American Express shares have surged over 37%. The potential for Apple to lose its top holding status in the portfolio raises concerns, especially with Buffett stepping down as CEO, possibly leading to a re-evaluation of stock positions focused on growth in artificial intelligence.
