Energy Fuels Inc. (UUUU) has begun pilot-scale production of heavy rare earth element (HREE) oxides at its White Mesa Mill in Utah, making it the only facility in the U.S. currently producing HREEs from mined ores. The initial product, Dysprosium (Dy) oxide, has a purity of at least 99.5%, with plans to introduce Terbium (Tb) production by November 2025 and samarium (Sm) oxide in January 2026.
Following successful pilot production, Energy Fuels aims to achieve commercial-scale production of Dy, Tb, and Sm by Q4 2026, utilizing its existing REE separation circuit. Additionally, the company’s Donald Project in Australia could commence production by the end of 2027, enhancing its domestic operations.
