Expeditors International of Washington reported second-quarter 2025 earnings of $1.34 per share, exceeding the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $1.24 and marking an 8.1% year-over-year increase. Total revenues were $2.65 billion, surpassing expectations of $2.4 billion and growing by 8.7% year-over-year due to increased air tonnage and ocean freight volumes. Airfreight tonnage rose by 7%, while ocean container volume also grew by 7%.
Operating income reached $248 million, up 11% year-over-year, with total operating expenses increasing by 8.6% to $2.4 billion. Key revenue segments included Airfreight Services, which increased by 10.6% to $951.8 million, and Customs Brokerage services, which rose by 10.5% to $1 billion. The company returned $335 million to shareholders through dividends and buybacks and finished the quarter with cash and cash equivalents of $1.16 billion.
