Significant Thursday Options Movement: APAM, GRPN, NVAX

On October 13, 2023, significant options trading activity was reported for three companies in the Russell 3000 index. Artisan Partners Asset Management Inc (APAM) saw 2,795 contracts traded, equating to about 279,500 underlying shares, which is 46.8% of its average daily trading volume of 597,375 shares. The $45 strike call option expiring on August 15, 2025, accounted for 1,386 contracts or approximately 138,600 shares.

Groupon Inc (GRPN) had 7,025 contracts traded, representing 702,500 underlying shares, or 46.3% of its 1.5 million average daily volume. The $38 strike call option expiring on October 17, 2025, saw 2,000 contracts traded, corresponding to 200,000 shares.

Novavax, Inc. (NVAX) reported the highest trading volume with 35,002 contracts, or 3.5 million underlying shares, making up 46.2% of its average daily volume of 7.6 million shares. The $9.50 strike call option expiring on August 15, 2025, had 7,386 contracts traded, representing 738,600 shares.
