Cotton Resumes Varied Activity During Afternoon Session

Cotton price futures saw the October contract rise by 67 points to 66.92 cents/lb on Wednesday, while December and March contracts fell by 8 and 3 points, respectively. The US dollar index decreased by $0.084 to $98.035, and crude oil futures increased by $1.05, supporting outside market conditions.

The Seam reported an online auction of 692 bales on Tuesday at an average price of 63 cents/lb. The Cotlook A Index rose by 15 points to 79.30 cents on August 18, while ICE cotton stocks decreased by 1,011 bales to 16,006 bales on August 19. USDA’s Adjusted World Price (AWP) increased by 66 points to 55.05 cents/lb, with the next update scheduled for Thursday.
