Flex Ltd.’s FLEX Power Modules has entered into a strategic partnership with Renesas to develop innovative board-mounted power management solutions aimed at enhancing data center efficiency. This collaboration addresses significant power, thermal, and scalability challenges as data centers evolve to handle increasing demands from AI workloads.

The partnership aims to combine Flex’s design and manufacturing capabilities with Renesas’ smart power technology, facilitating quicker design cycles and reduced costs. Flex projects to generate approximately $6.5 billion in revenues from the data center sector by fiscal Q1 2026, reflecting a year-over-year growth of at least 35% and making up 25% of its total revenues.

As part of the initiative, both companies will collaborate on high-density power modules, integrating Renesas’ smart power stages with Flex’s high-efficiency solutions, capable of configurations ranging from two-phase to 32-phase setups. The new high-efficiency power shelf system introduced by Flex, designed to support 800 VDC power architectures, can deliver up to 33 kW per shelf with a peak efficiency of 97.5%.
