Cotton Continues to Decline Heading into Thursday

Cotton futures experienced significant midday losses on Thursday, with drops ranging from 56 to 93 points. As of the latest data, the US dollar index rose by $0.540 to reach $97.060, while crude oil futures decreased by $0.36.

The USDA reported upland cotton export business at 186,108 RB for the week ending September 11, with shipments reaching a three-week low of 120,493 RB. Additionally, The Seam reported the sale of 4,975 bales on Wednesday at an average price of 65.23 cents/lb.

Current cotton futures prices include October 25 at 64.93 (down 93 points), December 25 at 66.66 (down 59 points), and March 26 at 68.64 (down 56 points). The Cotlook A Index increased by 100 points to 79.10 cents on September 17.
