On Wednesday, the Financial sector recorded a 0.5% decline, with KKR & CO Inc (KKR) dropping 5.5% and Apollo Global Management Inc (APO) losing 4.0%. The Financial Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLF) is down 0.4% for the day, but has increased 11.93% year-to-date. In contrast, KKR is down 5.53% year-to-date, while APO has fallen 14.87%, together making up about 2.1% of XLF’s holdings.
The Technology & Communications sector also saw a 0.5% loss, highlighted by Synopsys Inc (SNPS) at -4.4% and Micron Technology Inc (MU) at -3.8%. The Technology Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLK) declined 0.8% this afternoon but remains up 20.05% year-to-date. SNPS is down 3.45% year-to-date, whereas MU has increased by 90.41%. Together, these stocks constitute approximately 2.5% of XLK.
Overall, three sectors are showing gains while six, including Financial and Technology & Communications, are in the red. The Energy sector leads with a 2.2% increase.
