Declining Cotton Prices Amidst Decreasing Export Demand

Cotton futures experienced losses on Thursday, with declines of 1 to 42 points across most contracts. The US dollar index rose by $0.582 to $98.100, while crude oil futures fell by 28 cents.

Export Sales data revealed a marketing year low of 86,094 RB of cotton sold for the week ending September 18, although shipments reached a three-week high at 137,223 RB. The Cotlook A Index increased by 30 points to 78.15 cents on September 24, and certified ICE cotton stocks remained at 15,474 bales.

As of now, October 2025 cotton is at 63.62 cents, down 42 points; December 2025 cotton is at 66.16 cents, down 1 point; and March 2026 cotton is at 68.07 cents, down 4 points.
