The USDA reported mixed wholesale boxed beef prices; Choice boxes rose by $1.40 to $367.37, while Select dropped $3.50 to $345.38. Federally inspected cattle slaughter on Tuesday was estimated at 116,000 head, with a weekly total of 217,000 head, down 16,000 from last week and 16,708 from the same week last year.
