The iShares U.S. Basic Materials ETF (IYM) experienced unusually high trading volume on Monday, with over 439,000 shares exchanged compared to a three-month average of around 25,000 shares. The ETF’s shares decreased by 1.2% during the trading session.
The highest trading volumes among the ETF’s components included Cleveland-Cliffs, which dropped by 4.7% with more than 13.6 million shares traded, and MP Materials, down 7.2% on over 9.8 million shares. Conversely, Westlake was the only component performing positively, rising about 2% on the same day.
