Cotton futures saw a mixed performance on Friday, with December contracts closing at 61.35 cents, down 33 points. For the week, cotton futures fell by 114 points. Meanwhile, crude oil futures decreased by $1.01 per barrel to settle at $57.99.
As of October 7, commitment of traders data indicated a net short position in cotton futures and options, increasing by 11,586 contracts to a total of 76,326 contracts. The Adjusted World Price decreased to 50.80 cents per pound, effective from Friday through the following Thursday.
