Corn Bulls Gain Momentum Thursday Fueled by Increased Export Demand

Corn futures saw gains of 3 to 6 ¼ cents on Thursday, with the CmdtyView national average cash corn price increasing by 4 cents to $4.02 ¾. A private export sale was reported by the USDA, involving 100,800 metric tons (MT) of corn to Colombia and 392,500 MT to Mexico.

For the week ending October 30, total corn export sales reached 1.99 million MT, exceeding trade expectations of 0.8-2.5 million MT, marking the third-largest total for the marketing year. Additionally, Brazil’s corn exports for December are estimated at 4.99 million MT, a rise from 3.62 million MT in the same period last year.

Statistics Canada projects 2025 corn production at 14.867 million MT, down 3.1% from the same time last year.
