Export Sales data indicated 35,163 MT for 2024 and 26,560 MT for 2025, with Mexico being the largest buyer for 2024 at 15,400 MT, and China leading for 2025 with 10,300 MT. October pork shipments amounted to 582.8 million lbs, marking a 1.8% rise from last year and the second largest total for October on record. The USDA’s FOB plant pork cutout value rose to $89.64 per cwt.
Wednesday’s hog slaughter was estimated at 489,000 head, bringing the weekly total to 1.465 million, which is down 1,000 from last week but up 7,152 from the same week last year.
