Cotton Prices Decline as Monday Trading Concludes

Cotton futures closed lower on December 19, with March contracts down 14 points at 63.61 cents per pound, May contracts down 6 points at 64.78 cents, and July contracts down 1 point at 65.85 cents. In the same week, the USDA reported cotton export sales at 153,266 running bales (RB), marking a three-week high but 10.19% lower than the same week last year. Shipments were reported at 101,577 RB, a marketing year low.

Crude oil futures rose by $1.43, reaching $57.95 per barrel, while the US dollar index decreased by $0.317 to 97.935. The Adjusted World Price for cotton was updated to 49.99 cents per pound, reflecting a 40-point drop from the previous week.
