Amazon’s Path to the $3 Trillion Club
Amazon (NASDAQ: AMZN) could potentially join the exclusive $3 trillion valuation club by the end of 2026, propelled by significant growth in its cloud computing division, Amazon Web Services (AWS). Currently valued at $2.48 trillion, Amazon’s progress may hinge on a 21% increase in stock price over the next year, according to analysts.
In the third quarter of 2025, AWS generated record revenue of $33 billion, marking a 20% year-over-year increase and accounting for 18% of Amazon’s total revenue of $180 billion. Despite being the largest revenue source, e-commerce operates on thin profit margins, contributing only 35% of operating income. Amazon’s earnings have consistently surpassed Wall Street estimates in 2025 by an average of 22%.
To reach the $3 trillion milestone, Amazon’s stock would need to experience at least a 9% earnings beat beyond expectations for 2026. With a strong order backlog of $200 billion and enhanced operational efficiency, the company is positioned for sustained growth in both AWS and its e-commerce sectors.
