Soybean Market Faces Early Year Decline

Soybean prices fell 2 to 3.5 cents on Friday morning, with the January soybean contract currently at $10.27½. There were 913 deliveries issued against January beans overnight, while the cmdtyView national average cash bean price rose by 4.25 cents to $9.68. Soymeal futures declined by $2.90 to $3.10 per ton, and soy oil futures increased by 40 to 51 points. A total of 48 deliveries were issued for January bean oil.

The USDA announced a payment of $30.88 per acre under the Farm Bridge Assistance program for soybean producers. Export Sales data, expected on Monday, will reveal projections of 0.7-1.8 million metric tons for 2025/26 soybean bookings, as well as meal and bean oil sales estimates.

Traders are also anticipating updated November crush data, with expectations of 225.24 million bushels of soybeans crushed and soybean oil stocks estimated at 1.906 billion pounds. Commitment of Traders data shows managed money at a net long of 110,403 contracts, reflecting a decrease of 37,375 contracts from the previous week.
