Corn Market Sees Minor Price Fluctuations

Corn futures experienced fractional losses on Thursday, closing with the nearby cash price at $4.08 1/2, down ¼ cent. Export sales for the week ending January 1 totaled 377,598 MT, falling short of the 0.7-1.5 MMT estimates for 2025/26, marking a marketing year low and a 15.1% decrease from the previous year.

Census data revealed October corn exports reached a record 6.564 MMT (248.5 million bushels), despite a 5.93% decline from September, but up 63.38% from October 2024. USDA’s upcoming WASDE report is expected to estimate corn stocks at 1.985 billion bushels, reflecting a potential reduction of 44 million bushels.
