Corn futures showed weaker trading on Wednesday, with contracts down by up to 2 cents. The CmdtyView national average cash corn price decreased by 1.5 cents to $3.84 1/2.
The USDA reported private export sales of 150,000 metric tons (MT) of corn to Colombia and 195,000 MT to unidentified destinations. Additionally, a Taiwan importer acquired 65,000 MT of U.S. corn overnight. Weekly EIA data related to ethanol production will be released on Thursday, a day later than usual due to a holiday, with projections indicating a decline from last week’s record highs.
As of the latest trading, March 26 corn closed at $4.21 3/4, May 26 at $4.29 3/4, and July 26 at $4.36 1/4, each down 1.5 to 2 cents for the day.
