Highlights from Thursday’s Option Activity: ABT, ANET, SMCI

Among the S&P 500 index components, Abbott Laboratories (ABT) reported significant options trading today, with a total of 44,710 contracts exchanged, representing about 4.5 million underlying shares. This figure accounts for approximately 71.5% of ABT’s average daily trading volume of 6.2 million shares over the past month. Notably, 3,905 contracts of the $105 strike put option set to expire on January 23, 2026, were traded.

Arista Networks Inc (ANET) also saw considerable options activity, with 40,497 contracts traded, translating to roughly 4.0 million underlying shares, or 64.2% of its average daily volume of 6.3 million shares. The most notable transaction was 1,737 contracts of the $140 strike call option expiring on January 30, 2026.

Super Micro Computer Inc (SMCI) experienced the highest volume among the three, with 165,978 options contracts traded, equivalent to approximately 16.6 million underlying shares, making up 56.4% of its average daily volume of 29.4 million shares. The $32 strike call option expiring on January 23, 2026, had 16,825 contracts traded, representing about 1.7 million underlying shares.
