Cotton futures experienced losses of 35 to 40 points at midday trading on March 26, 2023, with March contracts at 63.93 cents per pound, May contracts at 65.54 cents, and July contracts at 67.03 cents. Crude oil futures were also down, sliding $1.43 to $60.67 per barrel.
The Tuesday auction from The Seam reported sales at 59.15 cents per pound for 17,692 bales, while the Cotlook A Index decreased by 25 points to 74.55 cents on January 21. The Adjusted World Price rose 20 points last week to 51.17 cents per pound. ICE certified cotton stocks remained static at 10,422 bales as of January 21.
