**General Motors Company (GM)** has announced that the 2027 Chevrolet Bolt will start at an MSRP of $28,995, making it the most affordable electric vehicle (EV) in the U.S. The new model promises improvements in driving range, faster charging speeds of up to 150 kW, and updated technology, all while retaining the original battery capacity with an additional 15 miles of range. This is facilitated through enhanced efficiencies derived from components shared with GM’s broader EV portfolio.
**Rivian Automotive, Inc.** is set to launch its R2 model, a midsize SUV priced around $45,000, in the first half of 2026. The company aims to improve profitability by leveraging cost efficiencies in materials and manufacturing. Meanwhile, **Ford Motor Company** plans to introduce a new lineup of affordable EVs starting in 2027, including a midsize pickup truck estimated to be priced at approximately $30,000, supported by a $2 billion investment in facility upgrades in Louisville, Kentucky.
