Celestica Inc. (CLS) has partnered with Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (AMD) to develop the Helios rack-scale artificial intelligence platform. This collaboration brings Celestica’s engineering and supply chain prowess together with AMD’s cutting-edge computing technology to facilitate large-scale AI implementation. Celestica will spearhead the design and production of networking switches optimized for AMD’s next-gen Instinct MI450 Series GPUs, utilizing the Open Compute Project and Ultra Accelerator Link over Ethernet technologies.
The switches are aimed at enhancing connectivity for AI clusters within cloud, enterprise, and research settings, addressing the rising demand for efficient AI infrastructure. Celestica’s stock has surged by 222.3% over the past year, outpacing the industry’s growth of 122%. The company is positioned to benefit from the increasing need for advanced data center solutions, although it faces competition from Arista Networks and NVIDIA, which are also advancing their AI networking switch portfolios.
