Tesla and Hyundai Shift Focus Towards Robotics
Hyundai Motor Group announced a $6 billion investment in a new high-tech robot manufacturing plant, set to launch in 2028 at its Metaplant in Georgia, USA. The facility aims to produce 30,000 Atlas robots annually for assembly line tasks, contributing to projects that could see the humanoid robotics market reach $5 trillion by 2050.
Tesla is also advancing in this sector, with its Optimus Gen 3 robot in final development stages, targeting an initial production date by the end of 2026. This positions both companies as early movers in the competitive landscape for humanoid robotics, alongside industry competitors like BMW, Mercedes-Benz, and Toyota.
