Investor Sentiment on AI Stocks
According to a survey conducted by The Motley Fool on March 3, 2026, 59% of investors own artificial intelligence (AI) stocks, with the highest ownership rates among younger investors—67% of Gen Z and 66% of millennials. Despite a slump in the tech sector, many investors remain optimistic about AI’s potential, which the Stanford Institute for Human-Centered AI predicts will be the most transformative technology of the 21st century.
Major tech companies, including Alphabet, Amazon, Meta Platforms, and Microsoft, are planning to invest between $600 billion and $700 billion in AI data centers by 2026. Notably, Nvidia has seen a 1,190% stock increase over the past five years, highlighting the significant returns possible with AI investments.
