Cattle Prices Surge Continuing Wednesday’s Gains

**Live Cattle Futures and Market Updates**
On Wednesday, live cattle futures rose between $1.40 and $1.85, with cash trades opening at $195 in the southern U.S. and moving to $197. The National Wholesale Boxed Beef prices also reflected a drop, with Choice boxes at $314.17/cwt and Select at $302.76. To date, Federally inspected cattle slaughter for the week stands at 225,000 head, which is up 8,000 from last week but down 15,646 from the same time last year.

Additionally, reports indicate potential delays in implementing tariffs on autos from Mexico and Canada, although no official statements have been made. President Trump engaged in discussions with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, but details of their conversation have yet to emerge.
