Netflix Announces Subscription Price Increases
Netflix (NASDAQ: NFLX) has raised subscription prices across all tiers effective immediately. The ad-supported plan will increase by $1 to $8.99 per month, while both the standard and premium plans will see a $2 increase, bringing their prices to $19.99 and $26.99, respectively. Additionally, the cost for adding extra members will rise to $6.99 for ad-supported plans and $9.99 for ad-free plans, both up by $1.
The streaming service plans to invest $20 billion in content this year, despite recently withdrawing from an acquisition bid for Warner Bros. assets. Analysts from Citigroup and JPMorgan Chase predict that these price hikes could lead to an additional $1.7 billion in annual revenue, potentially enhancing Netflix’s financial outlook for 2026.
