Key Earnings Reports This Week
This week, major companies including Microsoft, Amazon, Alphabet, and Meta Platforms are set to release their quarterly earnings, with reports expected on April 29. These tech giants collectively announced plans to invest $700 billion in AI this year, raising concerns about their capital expenditures and future cash flow.
On April 28, Robinhood Markets (NASDAQ: HOOD) will announce its earnings, with a focus on the impact of decreased cryptocurrency trading and record event contract trading, which reached 3.4 billion contracts in January. Additionally, Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) will report on April 30, with emphasis on its iPhone sales growth and strong performance in China, where revenue was $25.52 billion, up 37% year-over-year.
ExxonMobil (NYSE: XOM) and Chevron (NYSE: CVX) are scheduled to report earnings on May 1 amid rising oil prices driven by geopolitical tensions, which have pushed oil above $100 per barrel. Their earnings will be particularly scrutinized as this is their first report since the escalation of the Iran conflict in late February, and both companies’ stocks have increased about 25% this year.
