Wheat Prices See Midday Gains

The wheat market experienced mixed results on Friday, with May Chicago SRW futures down 3.5 cents at $6.20 1/4, while other contracts saw modest gains of 1 to 2 cents. Kansas City HRW futures rose by 5 cents, bringing May contracts to $6.83 and July contracts to $6.98 1/2. In addition, there were 312 delivery notices issued for May CBT wheat futures overnight.

U.S. wheat export commitments have reached 24.859 million metric tons (MMT), which is 15% higher than the same period last year and accounts for 102% of the USDA’s projected exports. Most of the country remains dry, though parts of central Texas and the SRW area may see precipitation later next week.
