Amazon’s Financial Growth and Future Plans
Amazon (NASDAQ: AMZN) reported a revenue of $181 billion in the recent quarter, marking a 17% increase, along with a net income of $30 billion. This growth is largely attributed to its e-commerce and Amazon Web Services (AWS), the latter reaching a $150 billion annual revenue run rate, significantly boosted by the AI boom.
Amazon’s AWS has developed in-house chips, Graviton and Trainium, which have a combined annual revenue run rate of $20 billion but could reach $50 billion if sold to third parties. CEO Andy Jassy indicated a strong demand for these chips, suggesting that a potential stand-alone chip business could be on the horizon for Amazon.
